This guide will help you set up Plugins For Sports Fútbol Free on your WordPress website. With the Free version, you can create one prediction pool, enter data manually and publish a leaderboard for your community.

First steps

Before getting started, prepare a page on your website where you want to show the prediction pool. You can create a new page or use an existing one. Decide which competition, matches and teams you want to include.

Installation

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Plugins For Sports Fútbol Free.
  2. If it appears in the results, install and activate it from that screen.
  3. If you cannot find it, download it from the Downloads page. Then go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, select the .zip file, install it and activate it.
  4. Once it is active, review the plugin settings pages before publishing your prediction pool.

Add the prediction pool with the shortcode

Add this shortcode to any WordPress page or post:

[plugins_for_sports_futbol]

In the block editor, you can use a Shortcode block. In the classic editor, paste it directly into the content.

Create your first prediction pool

Set up your prediction pool with these simple steps:

  1. Create the main teams. Add up to 3 teams for participants to predict their results.
  2. Set up a season. Create a season, give it a name, set its date range and select the main team.
  3. Add the remaining teams. Complete the teams in the selected competition.
  4. Add the matchdays. Once you have all the teams, start by adding the first matchday with the fixtures played by the 1–3 selected teams. Then continue with matchday 2 and the following ones.
  5. Open the prediction pool. Once you have created a matchday, go to the prediction pool’s main page: the first fixtures will be ready to accept predictions.

Leaderboard and prizes

Participants predict each match result and compete on a leaderboard. Each correct team prediction earns 3 points, and correctly predicting the complete score adds 2 more points.

The prize appears only as text in the prediction pool settings. Plugins For Sports does not manage prizes, money or payments: everything else is handled by the person or organisation responsible for the website.

Moving to Premium

If you later want better features to make managing your prediction pool easier, you can move to Premium without starting again: you keep everything you already had and premium features are activated.

Premium features

Premium lets you receive matches, schedules and players from our database, create up to 10 prediction pools, send email notifications and use the competition generator with teams and dates. It also includes prediction verifiability: when the deadline closes, participants receive other participants’ predictions by email to make sure they have not been changed afterwards.

Using several sports on the same website

Each sport works as an independent plugin. If you want to offer Football and Basketball on the same website, you need to install one plugin per sport. Each Premium version has its own annual licence.
